I have tried several times to call the avitredsed phone number 300303777 .each time it rings out to a fax tone.My wife is booked on an Emirates flight. (. sin-uk ) on Tuesday 5th june at 00.55hrs (flight EK 349).She arrives in Singapore on Sunday evening 2120 hrs.Due to jet star canceling the original flight which was perfect for her connection with Emirates EK 349. She now has a wait of 27hrs.Would it be possible to re-arrange her flight to the same time a day earlier on the 4 June to limit her waiting time for her connecting flight.I look forward to your reply.Kevin Graham |

Emirates problemsSubmitted by Anonymous on Tue, 12/27/2011 - 16:29. |
I understand the peoples' concern but it is very important to check details before pressing the go button. Also the previous deal with Emirates was only for flights in mid-jan to mid-feb. SO you would not have got the good price for flights later on. Check the penalty for cancelling the original flights - if it is only R1500 person you will still gain by cancelling and rebooking and getting your better connection. i booked the deal for feb - which was excellent - a round trip Cape Town to Madrid for just R3772 - that's a great deal. BUT do check whether you can cancel the original tickets because it may work out cheaper to cancel and rebook. if you can't and have a long layover do make use of the hotel in the airport terminal - i did a month or so ago and it is really good and i felt so refreshed by the time i got back home in SA. |

Whilst I understand your frustration you must understand that you booked the ticket and you agreed to the terms and conditions of the sale. It was your haste that allowed this to happen and in order for the tickets to be changed it is perfectly normal and acceptable for the airline to charge you. The charge will of course depend on the fare restriction class that you purchased. The call centre can do nothing outside of company policy and ticket conditions so it is not that they were being unhelpful you simply chose not to pay for the mistake you made and in so doing tying the call centre agent's hands - as a frequent flyer with them you should be aware of this fact. Fares change all the time and is it often luck of the draw as to how far in advance a ticket is booked to get the best deal. I would strongly suggest that you make a booking at the Dubai International Hotel in the transit area so that you can spend the transit in comfort. The last time I made use of the hotel the rooms were about DHS800 which is about R1600. The rooms are quite luxurious and definitely provide welcome relaxation during a long layover. I hope you still manage to enjoy your trip. |
Skywards Joburg to CopenhagenSubmitted by Anonymous on Tue, 12/27/2011 - 10:02. |
Shortly after retiring in November, my husband and I were excited to see your offers to fly to Copenhagen from Johannesburg and if we booked before 21st December, there was a special price. As our son and his family live in Copenhagen we went on line and made our bookings. Unfortunately in our haste to settle on a suitable date and flight schedule we selected and paid for the correct dates BUT the wrong schedule and now instead of having a 4 hour stopover in Dubai on our return leg,we have a 15 hour stopover. A phone call to the emirates help desk the following morning prooved unhelpful as the lady didn't seem overly concerned for us and just told us we could change it but it would cost us! |
