Joe Cools

This is the place where the tanned, beautiful people in the latest fashions meet. People with a taste for great food, music and atmosphere.
Situated in the heart of Durban’s famous beach front, Joe Cool’s is relaxed and casual. The restaurant menu features an upscale, world-flavoured flair, with the inside dining area accented with dark woods and colourful lighting.
The upper and lower outside decks allow for relaxed afternoon luncheons whilst settling into one of our ever popular cocktails. Joe Cool’s truly has the hallmarks of both a trendy eatery and a hot nightspot, featuring 5 bars, 2 upstairs and 3 downstairs, including a specialised cocktail bar boasting a line up of sophisticated drinks and summertime-scorchers to please one and all.
The nightclub kicks off over the weekends, with the DJ smoothing out eclectic hits from the 80’s & 90’s as well as all your favourite latest commercial numbers. The experience is both vibrant and elegant. The food is good, the vibe is great and the view is even better.

Florida Rd

Florida Road, a villagy street of more than 30 restaurants, bombards the senses with the foods of just about every culture that has set foot in this port city. If you could reduce Durban’s restaurant scene like a well concentrated stock, Florida Road would be the result – a delicious complexity of flavours and experiences with extra spice. This is Durban on a plate – no, let’s rather say it’s on a very big table! Here you’ll find long standing institutions such as Christina Martin’s highly respected cooking

Academy and the eccentric Bean Bag Bohemia, and everything in between. There’s classic Italian at Marco’s, Spiga d’Oro and Papa Giovanni’s; seafood at A Gruta; Asian fusion at Mo’s Noodles and Baanthai; and a well aged steak at Butcher Boys.

Bean Bag Bohemia

The restaurant has grown over the last ten years to become a nationally known institution. It has strong ties with the arts, creative industries and politics. Spiga d’ Oro

Brothers Marco and Luca have created a unique restaurant in Florida Road that is strongly reminiscent of the typical Italian pavement bistros. The restaurant is always lively and there is a buzz as people sit at tables on the pavement or dine inside. Bookings are not taken and part of the experience is joining the crowd waiting for tables and watching the passing parade. The brothers know most of their customers by name and run things with impeccable casualness. The fare is ostensibly pizzeria, but in fact it has all the familiar Italian food and in addition there is the "On the Table" menu which provides a great selection of more innovative cooking.

Billy the B.U.M.S

Billy the B.U.M.S. is also known as the PREFERRED PLAYGROUND OF THE NATAL SHARKS. One or more of the Sharks can often be seen at Billy the B.U.M.S. either enjoying the culinary delights, or sampling a few of the cocktails conjured up by the bar staff. B.U.M’s stands for "Basic up Market Socialite" and this is the crowd that frequents the establishment, where focus on atmosphere is as important as on the American styled food. Choose a cocktail from the menu, which contains more than 50 exotic and classic mixed drinks, flared up for you by one of Billy’s professional cocktail bartenders.
