We're not quite finished with our report on the latest spa treatments that have our overseas luxury scavengers in a tizz. The treatments are weird and kind of enticing, if you're in the right mood.

Cactus massage

Who needs soft hands to get rid of all those tension inducing knots on your back when a cactus can do the job just as well? With all those cacti, the Mexicans had to be enterprising. The relaxing cactus paddles are used to rub in a special kind of alcohol from the agave plant and a precursor to tequila. All this apparently helps you unwind. By the way the paddles are prick free.

Caviar facial

Some people still can't get used to the idea of eating fish eggs as a fancy food. Roe sounds a bit disgusting to be eaten, whether it's on a cracker or washed down with champers. So maybe the idea of using its anti-aging qualities on your face might be a bit more appetising? Apparently at Beverly Hills (where else?), the caviar facial is quite the rage. Guess the movie stars love the Four Seasons for fish eggs too.

Cupping

The first time I heard of this was somewhere in Asia and a friend had done it. After professing the detoxification qualities of small heated cups put on your back to suck out all impurities, she showed me her awfully marked back. I speculated self-harm but wondered about the lack of secret shame. Then Gwyneth Paltrow showed up to a film premiere with similar marks on her back. The world went nuts over cupping.

Caviar pedicure

And you thought you were done with caviar? Those fishy eggs have more uses than you can imagine. They can be used for upper-crust pedicures too. Caviar is said to contain marine collagen that feeds the skin with nutrients, replenishing worn-out toes.

Egyptian mud

If you thought it was milk that gave Cleopatra that famed skin, think again. A spa in Chicago offers Egyptian mud body wraps to those who envy the baby-bottom, soft skin of ancient kings and queens. The mud is supposedly flush with vitamins A, E and those essential fatty oils. Apparently the softness lasts for two to three weeks. You might need a reliable dealer here.
