Long gone are the days when guys hit the course and ladies hit the spa. Chicks are wanting in on the action too... So step aside guys, as the ladies do the golf-course rounds.

Getting that perfect kit…

Grandpa tweed-style pants and knit pullovers are such a bogey on the golf course these days. Stylish outfits are certainly sprucing up the greens and the girls are taking it to another level.

Designers are adhering to their requests. Labels such as Pringle and other sports shops are ensuring that women look stylish on the course. Women are stepping out on the greens in Lacoste’s signature golf t-shirts with stone slacks and pumps to match.

Women know that every outfit needs to be accessorized and the course has no exception.

Tee of at some of the hottest golf and spas with these great packages.

Golf clubs essent explained…
Woods

These types of clubs are used for long-distance fairway shots. They generally have a large head and a long shaft for maximum club speed.

Irons
The most versatile class of clubs and can be used for a variety of shots. They are equipped with a flat angled face and a shorter shaft than a wood. These clubs are designed for shots approaching the green or from more difficult lies such as the rough, through or over trees, or the base of hills.

Wedges
They have a higher loft than a 9-iron, which is typically lofted at about 44 degrees. Wedges are used for a variety of short-distance, high-altitude, high-accuracy shots such as hitting the ball onto the green, placing the ball accurately on the fairway for a better shot at the green or hitting the ball out of hazards or rough onto the green (chipping).

Putter

Putters are a special class of clubs with a loft not exceeding ten degrees, designed primarily to roll the ball along the grass, generally from a point on the putting green towards the cup. They used mainly on the green to roll the ball into the cup.

Hybrids
Hybrids are a cross between a wood and an iron, giving these clubs the wood's long distance with the iron's familiar swing. These clubs generally are used instead of either fairway woods or low-numbered irons.

Tip: your caddy will be able to advise you about correct club use, so you can make that perfect shot every time.

Speaking the language…

Don’t be left in the lurch by your male counterpart in the green. Here are some terms that you will need to know so that you can impress even the most professional:

Caddy - this is not some form of bag or cab driver. This is the person who will help with the perfect shot and carry your bag.

Par – is the abbreviation for “professional average professional person in charge of carrying your bag where your golf clubs are in result” which can be defined as being regarded to the number of strokes the person should take before hitting a hole in one.

Birdie - this is not some form of bird. I repeat “this is not some form of bird”! A birdie is hole played one stroke over under par.

And neither is a bogey something that comes out of your nose. It is a hole played one stroke over par.

When the golfer shouts “fore”, it has no reference to numbers. Instead it’s a warning to be aware of where the ball he just hit, might land i.e. on somebody's head.

Tip: don’t go shouting random things. Don’t get noticed for any of the wrong reasons.

So you don’t need to be Tiger Woods to play the perfect game. Well, if all else fails, place release your sorrows and frustrations at the spa that will be at hand.
