The specially prepared area from which the first stroke for each hole's made is known as teeing ground. A hole-in-one! Also known as an ace. This means getting the ball into the hole with only one shot.
Front nine's are your holes 1 through 9 on a golf course. Interlocking grip's the style where your pinkie finger of the right hand's hooked around the index finger of the left. You’ll use this if you're right-handed.
Par is actually the abbreviation for "professional average result". In layman terms, it's the number of shots (strokes) the experts think it should take the golfer to get the ball in the hole.
The term albatross refers to a hole played three shots under par.
Back nine means holes 10 through 18 on a golf course. Baseball grip in golf you ask? It's also known as the 'Ten-Finger Grip". It simply refers to a style of grip where all the ten fingers are placed on the club.
It's a birdie! It's a plane! Simply means a hole played one stroke over under par. On the flipside, a bogey's a hole played one stroke over par.
Bunker Fairway is a hazard/obstruction of sand and bare earth. The chip's a short shot which travels in the air for a short distance and rolls the rest of the way to the hole.
The double bogey's a hole played two strokes over par. While and Eagle refers to a hole played in two strokes under par. A double eagle's a hole played three strokes under par.
When your golf partner shouts "Fore!" it's being shouted as a warning. This is when a ball may hit other players or spectators.
The golf term medal play is a style of scoring. The player that has the fewest strokes wins.
