There are some questions about travelling that we've all posed to our friends with encyclopaedic travel knowledge. We'll bust some of those biggies for you so that next time you might be one up on your friends.
Or simply just travel independently without having to call your friends with a long list of questions.
Why are some tickets more expensive than others?
Well unless you're flying international, which is obviously more expensive, you'll notice that seats can vary in price.
It's all due to the availability. The more advanced your booking the less expensive it will be. Cheaper seats are dolled out first, and then the next batch of seats becomes available, until you're left with the most expensive last-minute ones.
How can I request assistance?
If for some reason you need to be helped in the airport or with boarding, call the flight provider call centre.
Talk to them well in advance, about 24 hours before your flight, to find what kinds of assistance services they offer to their customers. It could range from unaccompanied minor to physically-challenged.

Make an early booking with one of these package deals.
What kind of baggage can I send accompanied?
You can transport all manner of personal or household goods as cargo. Obviously you will need to check with your carrier about what the specifics are. But unless you’re involved in questionable activities you should be fine.
How do I send minors?
If you have a child that needs to fly on his/her own it's generally impossible to book them online.
Rather contact the call centre of your carrier and find out about their specific rules.
Specifics range from minors should arrive at their destinations before eight in the evening to if a 5 year old is travelling with a teenager then they don't fall into the unaccompanied minor category.
How do I keep a travel blog?
Join GoTravel24 Blogs! Then make sure you have a camera to take great shots because, seriously, a travel blog without photos can get a tad boring. Once you've registered and put your first blog, send a mass email to all your friends with the link. Remind them once in a while.
How do I deal with annoying seatmates?
If you're stuck next to a snorer, you can sigh and move around just to make it clear you're uncomfortable, or just shake the person up. Then there's the chatterbox, if someone can't stop talking don't encourage them by asking questions. A surgical mask helps too. And if you're seated next to an onion eater, take out your breath mints and offer them one.
How to avoid cancellation fees?
This can be difficult and impossible to sidestep. So the best way to avoid this kind of grief is to make sure you know what the cancellation policies are before you spend your money. That way you can be prepared for whatever happens later on.
How to bring back your buys?
When you're out there, overseas or within the country, the first thing you think of when you see a desirable piece of art is usually "how will it look in my house?" The question of transport usually comes later. And it can be problematic. As a general rule, don't get anything that you can't carry with you.
What if I miss my flight?
You will probably have to part with some money to get onto the next flight. You can't really avoid this, unless it's the airline's fault.
Rather get there early and suffer the boredom (or you could always surf on your ipod safari) rather than rush in at the last moment and end up paying for it.
How do I reduce my carbon footprint?
Read all our guides on this. Do your own research and make green travelling a priority. Make use of the carbon calculators so that you know how large your carbon footprint is. That way you know how much to off-set.
