Gotravel24.com:You're one of South Africa's most recognisable athletes, does it bother you being noticed while on holiday?
Oscar Pistorius:"No not really people tend to have respect for one’s privacy and in any case it always nice to talk to people and kids , as they are my supporters
How has being allowed to compete in the Beijing Olympics made you feel?
"Needless to say it has been the best day in my life when I got the ruling at our lawyers’ offices in Milan. It was such mixed emotions of joy and relief
Where is the most interesting place athletics has taken you to?
"For competitions it has to be Italy where a place like Rome has many fond memories for me running my 1st international race... once there you know why it is called the eternal city. Then indirectly it has to be St Petersburg when I went for the Laureus awards. What an amazing city.
Does physical training regularly feature on your holiday itinerary?
"Yes, unfortunately one has to train, the intensity might not always be there when on holiday but you cannot afford to lay off too long.
Are you a bush baby, eco adventurer, extreme thrill-seeker, beach bandit, or five-star freak?
"I enjoy the bush but like any South African we are spoilt for choice so I like to experience all South Africa can offer and being 21 and by nature a speed junkie extreme sport does feature but athletics limits this somewhat.
Local is lekker when you find yourself in...
"Anywhere in the Timbavati, I love the bush.
Your favourite hangout in the global village is...
"Has to be the unspoilt coast of Mozambique.
Your travel nightmare would have to be...
"When I was detained at the Airport in Amsterdam. I went shooting the day before my travels and some gun powder residue was left on my prosthetics.
When going through the metal detectors my legs always sets off the alarm. I had to show them my prosthetic legs and as luck would have it they had a sniffer dog there that went mad and they saw gun residue on my legs.
I was detained for 3 hours trying to explain and in the process missed my flight, my mobile phone’s battery went dead so I had nobody to call . It was a real unpleasant experience
Travelling in style is...
"Flying in your own Gulfstream 5 and having your Rolls Royce convertible waiting on the apron to pick you up.
Have you had or made any mile-high club propositions?
"No but I still have many hours of flying time left.
Your ideal travel companion is...
"Has to be my girlfriend.
You never travel without your...
"My I-Pod and Macbook for sure."
