Loyiso Bala is the epitome of smooth. He recently performed for Madiba's 90th Birthday' in London's Hyde Park, we chat to him about gig travels.

Gotravel24.com: You're one of SA's most successful artists, what's the craziest thing a fan has done to get you attention?

Loyiso Bala: "I was once performing at one of my first club gigs, years back, and while I was on stage a fan screaming my name noticed that I wasn't even looking her way. She came to the front of the stage, grabbed me by my sneaker and hurled me off the stage.

I learned then never to ignore people calling out for you."

Do you mind being noticed while on holiday?

"Not at all. Apart from if I have food in my mouth...

Don't ignore these package deals.

Your best gig thus far has to be...

"Madiba's 90th Birthday' in London - Hyde Park. My biggest crowd ever of about 50 000 people in front of the Great Nelson Mandela.

Had any other overseas gigs recently?

"I've just returned from Germany. I sang in Munich with my brothers, Bala Brothers, for a football charity game organised by Clarence Seedorf that had all sorts of celebrities and famous players participating. From Michael Schumacher to Diof and Italy's Gattuso.

Are you a bush baby, eco adventurer, extreme thrill-seeker, beach bandit, or five-star freak?

"Extreme thrill-seeker. I can't stand in one place for too long.

Your favourite hangout in the global village is...

"Brazil. Wonderful Music, affordable fun and beautiful women.

Locally you prefer to hang out at...

"My couch. I never get or make much time to enjoy this simple pleasure.

Your travel nightmare would have to be...

"Australia. Mostly because of the long flight and the dreadful jetlag.

Travelling in style is...

"A first class seat to anywhere in the world.

Are you a walking holiday itinerary or a spontaneous relaxation rebel?

"A walking holiday itinerary. I love to experience places like the locals do it.

Have you had or made any mile-high club propositions?

"Not yet...lol

Your ideal travel companion is...

"My brother Zwai. We have way too much fun to tell anybody about it.

You never travel without your...

"Passport and my phone.

Tip to make and not break the holiday...

"Be ready for whatever. Good or bad, it is still an experience to tell your grand kids about one day."
