Durban fun
Take the kids to Durban this school holidays. From as little as R1 249, its a definite steal...

Top Billing presenter Jo-Ann Strauss hit the limelight after winning the Miss South Africa crown in 2000. We chat to her about her favourite hangouts.
This beauty, who has shared the ramps alongside the likes of Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and Elle McPherson, has brains too with a B.Comm (Law) degree under her belt.
Gotravel24: As a popular face on South African television does it bother you being recognised while on holiday?
Jo-Ann Strauss: "Not at all. I was in holiday in Rome and had people recognise me while visiting the Coliseum. They spotted me saying 'Oh my goodness there's Jo-Ann'. It was a bit surreal, but South Africans are definitely travelling a lot more these days, so it’s surprising, but great to be recognised in faraway places.
Are you a bush baby, eco adventurer, extreme thrill-seeker, beach bandit, or five-star freak?
"It depends. I enjoy adventure experiences such as underwater photography of ragged-toothed sharks in Sodwana Bay, on the KwaZulu-Natal coast. But I'm also quite at home relaxing on beaches of Ibiza. I’m not much of a party animal!
Local is lekker when you find yourself in...
"I love local. Botlierskop Private Game reserve outside George allows you to enjoy a five star tent experience - and they treat guests like friends! Truly awesome - I love elephants and my two favourites, Sam and Tsotsi live there. You can even have lunch with them!
My favourite hangout in the global village is...
"I'd have to say the not-too touristy parts of Spain - Cadiz and Seville. People hardly speak English in Cadiz and the buildings are incredible – it’s one of the oldest towns in Europe"
Your dream getaway would see you...
"Getting away to Hawaii or Belize.
Travelling in style is...
"I'm a very easy traveller. Would have to say air-conditioning, leg room, white cotton bed linen and running water always makes me happy ;-) Click here to check out Jo-Ann's travel gallery.
Are you a walking holiday itinerary or a spontaneous relaxation rebel?
"It depends on if I'm travelling for work or play.
Have you had or made any mile-high club propositions?
"Let's just say my boyfriend and I travel a lot."
Your ideal travel companion is...
"My boyfriend.
You never travel without your...
"iPod.
Tip to make and not break the holiday...
Check out accommodation websites and try not to pay in advance – pics can be deceiving and over-ambitious web designers have disappointed many a traveller.
What keeps you coming back for more...
