SA television's link-shaker retains her signature take-no-prisoners style when on holiday too it appears.

With that said, not even her own physical features can escape Coyne’s cutting remarks and she has an aversion for all things tour related. Get a copy of Coyne’s latest work, Who Moved My Ladder, to enjoy more of her scathing charm as she dissects the hard-hitting issues faced by modern working women.

Gotravel24.com:
As an accomplished writer and one of SA television’s most popular faces, does it bother you being recognised while on holiday?

Fiona Coyne: "With a nose this size it is impossible not to be recognized, no matter how hard I try. Unfortunately nobody has yet designed a baseball cap or dark glasses to disguise it (gap in the market there), so I've had to make peace with being recognized. But it's only an issue locally. Overseas nobody has a clue as to who I am, which is fantastic. "

Are you a bush baby, eco adventurer, extreme thrill-seeker, beach bandit, or five-star freak?
"An environmentally conscious five-star bush baby, with an insatiable appetite for extreme thrills!"

Local is lekker when you find yourself in... "Any place in South Africa excluding Kimberley... and certain sections of the East Rand. Oh, and excluding parts of the West Rand... and parts of the Eastern Cape, and certain areas in the Northern Cape...oh, alright, I like Cape Town and Hyde Park."

My favourite hangout in the global village is...
"Copenhagen. I feel a great rapport with The Little Mermaid."

Your travel nightmare would have to be... "Being part of a tour group, anywhere, anytime, under any circumstances whatsoever!"

Your dream getaway would see you... "In Antarctica."

Travelling in style is..."Mandatory!"

Are you a walking holiday itinerary or a spontaneous relaxation rebel? "Definitely the latter! I don't even carry a camera with me when I travel."

Have you had or made any mile-high club propositions? "Yes. As to whether these were received or made, I decline to comment."

Your ideal travel companion is... "Anybody with an adequate budget and a playful streak, who doesn't have any preconceived 'must see' or 'things to do' lists."

You never travel without your... "Luggage."

Tip to make and not break the holiday... "Hang out with the locals. Don't go where the tourists go."

What keeps you coming back for more… "The nature of the people. It's always about the people."
