Brett Shuttleworth unpacks

June 9th, 2008
Brett Shuttleworth coyly admits he's had several mile-high propositions, as GoTravel24 chats to him about his holiday habits.
Modelling has seen him being featured on billboards across the world and who can forget the Joe Boxer campaign plastered across New York's Time Square. Originally from KwaZulu-Natal, he has returned to South Africa as a qualified life coach to help others wishing to "live their best life based on truth and courage".
Gotravel24.com:As one of South Africa's biggest modelling exports does it bother you being recognised while on holiday?
Brett Shuttleworth: "No I guess over the years one just gets accustomed to it and it is after all part of the job."
Are you a bush baby, eco adventurer, extreme thrill-seeker, beach bandit, or five-star freak?
"All of the above. I take pleasure from each and every type of holiday - change is good and certainly expands your horizon."
Local is lekker when you find yourself in...
"Would have to be in the Tsitsikamma Forest"
My favourite hangout in the global village is...
"Without question it has to be Manhattan."
Your travel nightmare would have to be...
"Delayed flights are my worst."
Your dream getaway would see you...
"On the top of the Himalayas or Having a long island (drink) in the Caribbean"
Travelling in style is...
"First class on a private jet has to be utopia"
Are you a walking holiday itinerary or a spontaneous relaxation rebel?
"Definitely a spontaneous relaxing rebel."
Have you had or made any mile-high club propositions?
"No, but I've certainly been propositioned on several occasions."
Your ideal travel companion is...
"My GPS because it's practical, doesn't argue with me and leads me in the right direction."
You never travel without your...
"Credit cards and passport"
Tip to make and not break the holiday...
Always have a spare credit card locked in the safe. And always arrange for several wakeup calls to avoid missing the flight.
What keeps you coming back for more...
The experience of tasting a different culture, as well as the scenery. I enjoy being taken out of my normal comfort zone.

Unpacks - regular feature
Thanks for the anonymous jibes, keep the comments and feedback coming in! He meant "No, he hasn't made any propositions himself" and "Yes, he has received quite a few propositions from other people."
Yes, he has been back for some time since his New York stint, that's why we've linked to his website for you to get the entire story.
The "unpacks" is the reference we use for our famous personalities feature - it's not meant literally! - Selene

Holy Smokes He's been embalmed in botox
When the heck was that photo taken? I mean um. You know he actually arrived back home in SA several years ago and he's still unpacking?
Does the idiotic author know that Times Square Billboard has hosted a whole generation of Boy models since our Dear Dof Brett?
Honestly. International travel? Please ask him when he last left Newcastle because truth be told, even a trip to Jozi would be " exotic international travel" for Brett.
Mile high club? Yup. He's a permanent member. He's still up there smoking the strong stuff...all by himself.
This author is an idiot
Lets play spot the error

Even at school he was a little on the dof side. But a nice smile goes a long way and the first rugby team ain't that bad either. Grades not that good though.
