Popular actress Catriona Andrew has graced our television screens in productions such as Egoli and Snitch. She takes time out of her filming schedule for the movie Finding Lenny with Barry Hilton, to chat to us about her travel experiences.

GoTravel24.com: As one of SA's well-known actresses, specifically for your role in Egoli, what's the craziest thing a fan has done to get your attention?
Catriona Andrews: "I was once sent 100 long stemmed red roses... all that the note said was "from your biggest fan and secret admirer".

What is the most memorable experience of your acting career to date?
"Every time I get hired for a role in a film or on TV, it is memorable!

At the moment I'm shooting a movie called "Finding Lenny" opposite Barry Hilton, where I'm in my first leading female role in not only a film, but also in a comedy.

And at the same time I'm also a principal lead in the second season of "Erfsondes / Sins of the Father"...so I guess that's pretty memorable to be working on both a TV series and a film (both as leads).

Tell us about your most recent holiday.
"I recently travelled to Berlin to see an art exhibition - the art was fantastic and so was the city.

I think until you actually walk the streets of East and West Berlin you never really fully comprehend the appalling reality that the people had to endure. Families were split up, your every move was dictated, even the architecture bears testimony to the past and how worlds apart the East and West were, even though they were only divided by a wall and a tiny strip of no-man's land.

After Berlin I travelled to Amsterdam, which would have been a lot more fun if it hadn't rained the whole time I was there...I ended my trip in London, which surprisingly had better weather!

Have you travelled quite a bit thanks to your career? If so, any particular place that stands out?

"I've been very lucky to travel quite a bit around the country due to work, but my most memorable trip was overseas to shoot the international advert for Wriggly.

We were flown to Prague (Praha). It is truly a picturesque city and the people are so friendly. The best part was I only had to work for 3 out of the 7 days I was there, so I really got to know the city.

You've trained in various dance forms, from Latin to pole dancing. Tell us a bit about that?
"Well, in drama school (high school and university), we had movement and dance classes where we were trained in specific styles of dance, i.e. Latin and Tribal.

So that's the sum of dance experience there. I am by no means a professional dancer!
As far as pole dancing goes, I had to learn that for the character I played in Snitch...she was a pole dancing, drug taking con artist...I actually went to a strip club for lessons!!!

If you could change one thing about the world what would it be?
"To give everyone the ability to travel around the world to all its beautiful locations without damaging the environment.

If you could change one thing about yourself what would that be?
"To be kinder to myself and take more time out to relax.

What is your greatest fear?
"I try to live a life of love, positivity and possibility, so I guess my greatest fear would be to live a life in fear.

Are you a member of the mile-high club?
"No, but I'm working on it.

Who would you most like to sit next to on a plane?
"Any passenger sitting in First Class...

What is your most treasured possession bought while on holiday?
"My Valentino handbag!

For someone so well travelled, one would imagine Catriona would be able to spell VALENTINO!
