Addo Elephant National Park's luxurious Gorah Elephant Camp has made it onto CNNGo's list of top luxury campsites around the world.
The list comprises 20 campsites from right across the globe, and Gorah has managed to snatch up the number 10 position. The camp is the only concession within the National Park and belongs to luxury brand Relais & Chateaux.
While the site lists it as being in Plettenberg Bay, they are in fact off with about 240 km, as the park is actually located just beyond Port Elizabeth, outside the tiny Eastern Cape hamlet of Addo.
Gorah's catchphrase is "Ralph Lauren meets Out of Africa" and it's easy to see why. They offer 11 tented suites, recalling the golden era of safari in the early 1900s.
The top five slots on the list are filled as follows: Sal Salis in Exmouth, Western Australia; Joy's Camp in Samburu, Kenya; Amanwana in Moyo, Indonesia; Treebones in Big Sur, California and Banjaar Tola in Madhya Pradesh, India.
Other campsites on the list include Hoope Yurt Hotel in Andalucia, Spain; Sala's Camp in the Masai Mara, Kenya; Chiawa Camp in Zambia.
