There is this lovely Old Hotel along the Midlands Meander in Kwa-Zulu Natal called Nottingham Road Hotel, situated in Nottingham Road.

The atmosphere there is wonderful, it is a great way to escape the city buzz. They have fire places all over their Diningrooms and in their Bar, which is essential for Winter as it gets pretty cold there.

The staff members are exceptional and they really go out of their way to make you feel welcome and at home. And the food, no words to explain how divine their food is. And Friday and Saturday nights the locals all come to Notties (as it is affectionately known) to watch sports in the bar and have something to eat in the Diningroom.

It's amazing there.

There are great places to explore in their area too. There is the Nottingham Road Brewery, which all men will enjoy and not to be outdone by the Winelands in the Cape, we have our very own winelands in KZN called The Stables.

There are activities for all the members your family too. The dads can go trout fishing at numerous places, in particular Lavender Trout. At Lavender Trout they have animals for the children to pet, they also have pony rides and a restuarant and shops for the children and moms to visit whilst they wait for their dad to finishing fishing.

Just across the road from Nottingham Hotel is a place called the Junction, there are shops for everything there;  Restuarant, Book Store, Toy Shop, Jeep clothing, Trout Fishing Accessories, etc.

There is also Born in Africa just down the road from Lavender Trout. They sell Shoes, Clothing and have a coffee bar there too. They also have an animal petting farm and ponies and donkeys too.

Further down, you get numerous places to visit; all of them exciting, unfortunately we ran out of time though as there are so many places and too little time.
