Located on a dune above the beach, it's no mystery where the hotel got its name.

The name says it all. Seriously.

Situated right on top of one of the unthinkably high dunes that characterise this stretch of the Southern Cape coast, Views Boutique Hotel in Wilderness offers a luxurious and dreamy lookout point over the vast Indian Ocean. From this magnificent setting you can watch the tides roll in and out, pods of dolphins passing by and whales playing in the ocean depths - all from the comfort of your five-star suite. The crashing of waves way down below offers a soothing lullaby as you nod off to sleep and a soft wake-up call as the sun seeps through the chinks in the curtains.

The influence of the sea doesn't end here, however, as a maritime theme runs through the hotel's decor and design like a shiny silver thread. A massive mobile of glass fish, bubble-like baubles, soft aquamarine lighting and accent pieces of driftwood are some of the most notable features, while large windows run along all the sea facing walls to bring the horizon ever closer.

The hotel boasts no less than 18 exquisitely furnished and delightfully eclectic luxury suites, each complete with semi-open plan en-suite bathrooms including both a large bath and a superb shower. Of these 18 suites there is one penthouse with panoramic sea views, five honeymoon suites with full sea views, seven premier suites with full sea views and three mountain-facing deluxe suites. The mountain-facing rooms, while no less luxurious than the sea-facing ones, are priced at a slightly lower rate of between R900 and R2200 depending on the season and occupancy. For full price list visit the Views Boutique hotel website.

A delectable choice of meals is assured during your stay, as guests can pick between the quaint and casual Sails restaurant and the hotel's stylish dining area. While breakfasts are served in the dining room every morning, Sails offers its services to the hotel throughout the day, and meals can even be ordered from the mezzanine level sundeck. If you're looking for something a little bit different, you can always opt to check out what the village of Wilderness has on offer - Cocomo's and Bongo's are famous for their pizzas, while Blue Olive is a hot spot for sushi. Feel like a cup of coffee? Why not hop on over to the Old Post Office.

And seeing you're heading out for food, you may as well open yourself up to some adventure. This area of the Garden Route is rife with all kinds of fabulous activities ranging from tandem paragliding, horse riding, rowing down the river, hiking in the lush forests or just good old walks on the beach. Check out the hotel's comprehensive list of activity suggestions to plan the fun side of your stay more thoroughly.

If you're not the active type, that's okay too. Views has a lovely large library that will charm even the most snobbish bibliophile, and a selection of board games if you're in the mood for some company. Of course, if it's relaxation that you're after, there is no better option than the on-site spa. Fully equipped with four treatment rooms - all with marvelous views - a vitality pool, steam room, sauna and flotation pool, the spa offers guests the ultimate in r&r. They have a fantastic array of treatments - of which the full body Wilderness Wave comes highly recommended - administered by calm and capable therapists.

All in all, the hotel offers all its guests the dreamiest and most relaxing of sea-side vacations.
