Apart from the breakfast buffet, guests can enjoy the Tapas style menu in an informal atmosphere.
Set in the heart of Cape Town's trendiest "up and coming" neighbourhood, the Protea Hotel Victoria Junction (affectionately known as the ‘VJ') in Greenpoint has reopened its revamped doors for business on the 1st of September.
Gone is the quirky, film set inspired décor, substituted by a more industrial and minimalist palette. The motivation for renovating the hotel in its entireity over a four month period stemmed from a greater environmental awareness and necessity for up to date technology.
"The project has seen the refurbishment of all 148 standard rooms and 24 loft rooms, as well as an extensive refurbishment of the restaurant, reception and other public areas on the ground floor," said General Manager Pieter Buitendag.
The reopening saw some familiar faces and hotel guests being serenaded in the freshly styled bar by none other than Prime Circle.
As part of the Green Point urban renewal programme for the 2010 Fifa World Cup, property owners the Hospitality Property Fund felt that it was time to redefine the hotel in the market place. The make-over of the Protea Hotels Victoria Junction sees the precinct regeneration come full circle.
