The Cango Wildlife Ranch just outside Outdshoorn has presented their latest bundle of shiny adorableness to the world. His name is Harry, he's a tiny Pygmy hippo, and, over the past week, he's been making more headlines than his royal namesake!

The little prince was born just less than a week ago to proud parents Hilda and Herbert and weighs in at a very healthy 5.1 kg.

Sadly Hilda refused to feed her little tot, and ranch staff took matters into their own hands, feeding him a 125ml mixture of milk and water every three hours.

According to Zoo Borns The Pygmy Hippopotamus' wild population is classified as critically endangered. There are fewer than 3000 left in the wild. They hail from West Africa, mainly confined to Liberia, with small numbers in the neighboring countries of Sierra Leone, Guinea and the Ivory Coast. So for Cango Wildlife Ranch, from Oudtshoorn South Africa, to successfully breed another endangered species is a very proud moment for all involved.
